Zzap!

JimBob looks nervously from Amazo to Sinestro, frankly shocked that his plan worked. "Please tell me that'll hold him, Sinestro" he says uncertainly. "Because if it doesn't, my 'Magical Darkness' will be RIPPED IN HALF!"

As a precaution, he will untie his feet from their anchor below, and prepare for the flight of his life.

"Of course it will hold him," says Sinestro. "Due to a necessary impurity in its makeup, Amazo's Power Ring, like the real article, is powerless against the color yellow."

"And as for the combined flying power of Superman and Wonder Woman, I have restrained those selfsame adventurers many a time. I will do so again."

He sounds very sure.

"Psst!" Quinn whispers to Amazo (and thus to JimBob, who I'm assuming has "ears" in every part of his body if he wants to), "let me have this shield back and maybe we can help you rescue Dr. Ivo. Because frankly I'm not a big Sinestro fan myself."

Vina is looking for an access panel for the battery pack. She's also dialing up Arkham Asylum to get ready for an attack--and sends an APB over the Justice communication system--if that's a possibility.

Amazo perhaps intuits what Vina is attempting, and swings around to clonk her with the shield. But Sinestro's shackles hold back his ankle, so the swing doesn't quite come all the way around, stopping short.

So Amazo opens his eyes super-wide, emitting beams of heat so intense they're actually visible in the clear air! The burning is so intense that Vina feels she must let go, or possibly perish.

But, y'know, no flying away ... so no difficulty for JimBob. Except for that his hands are over Amazo's eyes, and are now on fire.

  1. Vina flies around Amazo at superspeed (assuming her wings/Supes ability can handle that) putting out the fire and then flies superfast to a perch out of his eyeshot. Then she makes the calls.

  2. JimBob has no choice but to let go, lest he be turned into something resembling the mozzarella topping a pizza fresh out of the oven. He maintains the wherewithal to shout "I RELEASE THE SPELL" as he does, in case he needs to play the "magic" card again later.

  3. Quinn, who is still holding tightly to the shield and now swinging wildly in open space, will try to use his momentum to pull the shield to an angle where it will, perhaps, reflect Amazo's beams back at himself.

While he's doing this he will shout, "whooaaaoooaaa!" and flail about, hoping that Amazo will decide the shield is more trouble than it's worth and drop it.
