Vina is using the anger she's feeling at this scientist treating people like sets of spare parts to keep herself upright.
"Okay, Dr. Frankenstein. I'm sure the Hawk Police will want to talk to you when they get back."
She's making an effort to move him to the door.
"Frankenstein?" Worrom sneers. "Pathetic second-rater! What sort of control mechanism did he THINK a dead brain would furnish? Sure, the body moved, but could it be trained? Programmed? Was it anything more than a monster, instead of the tool it could have been?"
"Don't call me Frankenstein, Lady Hawk. I am light-years beyond that fumbling poser."
(Can she actually move him to the door, or is she too weak?)
(No, it gets easier to resist the weakness the farther she gets from the kryptonite-powered Metallo.)
"Yeah, well, his creation came after him, Dr. Worrom. The creature wasn't the real monster, was he?"
The guards nod. She's got a point.
"So, Doctor, this creation of yours was ordered up by...President Luthor?"
"Luthor? Hardly," says Worrom. "No one knows who rebuilt Metallo's body. Apparently Metallo killed him."
As they pass by, Chin-Su remembered what the other guards said. "Say Doc, why'd you fire up Amazo? And why did he hit you?"
"I thought Amazo could slow Sinestro down," says Worrom. "And then I was going to restart Metallo, the Red Tornado, Tomorrow Woman and Computo. Together, I was confident they could defeat Sinestro. And then they might have turned on each other, but that I wasn't sure about. I was so curious ..."
"Anyway, Amazo has some grudge against me from my experiments to establish the parameters of his unique metaplastic structure. He lashed out as soon as his eyes opened."

"No, nothing like Dr. Frankenstein..." Vina mutters.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the lab personnel. "Y'all need a doctor? A real doctor?"
Chin-Su will poke his head out(literally just his head, leaving his body where it is). "Hey, Quinn! Wake up! Vina's bringing out a real piece of work, and we could use an extra set of eyes."
