In the Hall of Nonanimatronic Presidents

Quinn an all-American boy, and the thought of monuments being destroyed immediately makes him forget his discomfort. He steps forward. "We'll do it, sir! We're all in!" He just assumes everyone is standing behind him, beaming and posing and whatnot.

"We should definitely go... Roy, can you get us there?" asks Vina

"Mount Rushmore?" JimBob frowns. He turns to Vina. "Didn't you say he was flying somewhere over the Arctic not an hour ago? What's he playing at?"

Vina answers: "He is likely trying to round up bits of his power that got scattered when Libra's machine broke... I doubt if he cares one way or another about Mount Rushmore."

"As to the robotics lab... he may be trying to fashion a fix to Libra's machine."

"Right! Then we'd better put the kibosh on his criminality!" says Roy, raising his glowing ring.

A bubble of green energy englobes the Leaguers, then the outside blurs by at dizzying speed, with no sensation of motion within.

Soon the bubble is hovering over a green-tinted Mount Rushmore, with a smoldering hole between Jefferson and Roosevelt's monuments. Flashes of light and rumbles emanate from the hole.

"So, in there?" Roy assumes.

But before the Green Lantern's will can bend the force-bubble to his desires, a fantastic figure erupts from the hole! Eight feet tall, bare-chested, with green tights and a red skullcap, the figure has pointed ears and oversized hands. Green and brown stripes extend from the belt buckle over both shoulders.

The figure is flying by means of a green Power Ring, which wraps him in an anti-gravitational green glow. And he is holding a glowing golden lasso, at the other end of which swings ... Sinestro!

Clearly the yellow power ring is unable to overcome the lasso, but then, neither is the lasso able to overcome the ring's aura. For now, it is a stalemate.

Which the red-capped man intends to resolve, by swinging Sinestro at the end of the lasso like a flail, directly at Theodore Roosevelt's head!

  1. Vina flies in. She doesn't have much hope of breaking the magic lasso, but she can try to break its momentum so the end of the flail doesn't hit its mark. If there's a knot at the end of the lasso she might be able to untie, she'll do that secondarily.

  2. JimBob has a very, very bad idea.

He's going to attempt to position himself behind the Green Lantern. Once there, he will stretch a hand over to the Lantern's oversized, ring-wearing hand. JimBob will then stretch/flatten his own hand until it is less than paper-thin, and attempt to slide one finger UNDER the Lantern's ring, but over the Lantern's finger, so that it is actually JimBob wearing the ring, and not the skullcapped figure.

Either that, or he will be broken in half. I figure it's probably about 50/50.

  3. Hey! Quinn's got a lasso too! He'll power-leap to ol' Ted's head, and try to lasso Sinestro with is own lasso which he has no idea what it does. But assuming he succeeds in roping the Bad Guy Wrecking Ball, he'll try to prevent him from being swung into Bull Moose.
